1948
Born in Shinjo City on June 10th.

1964
Began training at age 16 in Wado-Ryu Karate in his hometown of Shinjo.

1966
Left for Tokyo to pursue karate training.

1967
Accepted as an uchideshi (live-in student) of Oyama Masutatsu, the founder of Kyokushin Karate.
1971
Received shodan (first degree black belt) at age 22.

Sent overseas by Mas Oyama for one year to establish Kyokushin Karate in Taiwan.

New York City
1974
Flew to the New York City, as one of the Kyokushin "Seven Samurai," (with Yuzo Goda, Yoshiji Soeno, Katsuaki Sato, Toshikazu Sato, Yukio Nishida and Joko Ninomiya), for gashuku (special training) to prepare for the 1st Kyokushin World Tournament which would take place in 1975 in Tokyo.

1975
Competed in the 1st All World Open Kyokushin Tournament in Toyko, returing to New York City with the intent of staying for a period of three years, however, remained there for twenty. # Taught under Nakamura Tadashi, who founded the Seido Karate in 1976.
1978
At godan (5th Dan level), left Seido Karate to open the Manhattan branch of Kyokushin Karate.

1986
Independently opened his own dojo – Kishi Karate – at 118 Mercer Street in Soho, New York City.

1987
Opened the Kishi Karate Shinjo dojo and flew between Japan and the U.S. to teach at both Kishi Karate dojos.

1992
Married Patricia MacLeod.

Japan
1994
Though his New York dojo was flourishing, left the U.S. to care for his sick mother in Japan. Remained in his hometown of Shinjo after her passing.

Shortly after, his daughter Mieko Kishi was born.

Passed away in his Shinjo dojo on April 23rd.
